Imaginary Journeys

Wir, die elf Teilnehmer des P-Seminars Imaginary Journeys (Englisch, Schuljahr 2023/2024), haben uns der Aufgabe gestellt, wie man für jüngere Schüler und Schülerinnen im Fach Englisch Rest- oder Randstunden sinnvoll und entspannend gestalten kann.

Der Schulalltag kann stressig sein und manchmal wünschen sich Schüler wie Lehrer ein paar ruhige Minuten. Sei es nach einem Test, als Belohnung nach einer anstrengenden Lerneinheit oder als harmonischen Abschluss vor den Ferien. Hier finden Sie kleine Traumreisen für Schüler/innen der Jahrgangsstufen 5 – 7 des bayerischen Gymnasiums.

Bei den folgenden Traumreisen ist jeweils der Bezug (Band, Unit, Thema) angegeben. Die Geschichten sind dann thematisch an einen Ausflug zu einer Farm oder den Aufenthalt in einem Summer Camp angelehnt.

Eine Kurzbeschreibung sowie eventuell unbekannte Vokabeln finden Sie in der jeweiligen Kurzbeschreibung.

Des Weiteren gibt es einen Bewertungsbogen, der von den Schülern nach der Traumreise ausgefüllt werden kann. Er bietet Platz für eine kleine kreative Auszeit und wurde in unseren Unterrichtsversuchen sehr gerne und gut angenommen. Die Beispiele vermitteln einige Eindrücke davon.

GL1/U4 "A trip to Mudchute Farm"

This imaginary journey will take you to Mudchute Farm in London. Follow us and relax to experience an exciting field trip. After a bus ride, you meet Mrs. Brown, the farmer, and Amy the cat. You see different animals like Brownie and Snow, the ponies, Elsa the cow, and a bunch of chickens. Before you drive back to school you have a big breakfast together.

GL2/U3 "A walk at night"

This imaginary journey will lead your thoughts away from school and will help you relax. Forget the stress of school for a while and immerse yourself in beautiful American wildlife. You find yourself in a summer camp, bravely taking a walk alone at night, what animals, or worse, will you encounter?

GL2/U3 "A summer camp in Italy"

This imaginary journey will take you far away from school and the associated stress. Follow us to meet the kind camp guide and experience a relaxing stay at a summer camp in Italy with all your friends. A variety of different sounds allows you to fully dive into the experience and enjoy the atmosphere of a sunny beach.

GL3/U3 "A visit to a castle in Wales"

This imaginary journey will take you to a castle in Wales. You will meet a friendly ghost, who will guide you through it. You will discover different rooms of the castle. Follow us to experience a relaxing story with fantastic, medieval, and magical elements. The story is brought to life with the help of sound effects and the music creates calming and soothing effects.

GL2/U4 "Visit a Native American boy"

This imaginary journey will take you to an Indian village, where you will meet a Native American boy. He decides to go for a walk into the forest near his village. There he has a frightening encounter with a bear chasing him into the depths of the forest. After escaping from this dangerous situation, he decides to climb up a mountain in order to enjoy the silence, the beautiful sunset and the breathtaking view.
